Jamie and I had a blast making cookies for friends and family! She is a natural Betty Crocker :)

Snow!!

So the snow is finally here!! Jamie loves to crunch around in it. We picked up a slab of snow today and she insisted she hold it. She fell down and it broke and she was very distraught. So we took it inside and put it in a bowl to make "snow soup".

Christmas Time!

So my family came to visit a few weekends ago and we had a blast! Jamie got to know her Papa Simpson a little better. They had fun together! Thanks for coming to see us family! Reading a story with Papa. This is her new favorite activity.

So Jamie has outgrown all of her dresses with the exception of this one and one other. I went through three too small dresses sunday morning before I came up with this! :)

Common Sense of a 2 year old.

I can't resist sharing this story - it's just too good.

This is a picture of my niece, Taya, whom the story is about. Her mother heard this the other day "Mommy? Mommy?" (Her voice was coming from the bathroom as she was trying really hard to do her little business on the potty.) Her mom responded in the usual parental fashion "Yes Taya. This is Mommy. What do you need? "Mommy" Taya said "I need some batteries!" Mom: "Batteries? Right now? Taya, why do you need batteries?" "Mom! I need some batteries so my bum will work!"

Walkabye Stroller

I think this stroller is amazing. And guess what - they are giving one away. I know I know... another giveaway. Recipe Exchange!

I thought we could help each other out with the whole cooking thing. I am really starting to get into it and I would love any new ideas! If you have a good simple and quick recipe please share with us!

Awesome Recipe!

You need
Chicken Breasts (as many as you need to feed the family)
Barbeque sauce
tomatoes
cheese
red onions (optional)

Cook the chicken breasts on 400 for 20 minutes (or until almost done)
Remove from oven and smother in bbq sauce. Put sliced tomatoes and onions on top and cook for five more minutes. Remove and top with cheese. It is awesome and so easy!!!!

For a great side cut up red potatoes in bite size pieces. Mix 1/4 cup of olive oil and a package of onion soup in with the potatoes and cook on 400 for 20 minutes.

Add some steamed veggies and you have a complete meal!

Mommy's Little Helper!

This is my little dishwasher. :) This is basically the only way that I can get the dishes done. She is very good at creating a swimming pool on my kitchen floor! Oh I love my little helper!

An Ode to Shannon

Well, I am probably just procrastinating doing more writing, but I am ahead on my word count for now (I only have a cushion of a couple hundred words, which is less than I wanted to have at this point...) and my brain is fried so I'm not going to think about it anymore.
Still, we are trying out a toddler bed for Jax, so I need to stay up and make sure that he actually goes to sleep tonight. It could take a while...I think he might be playing with toys right now. Here is a quick explanation of why I am attempting this at 19 months. A.J. very clearly hates sleeping in his room alone, but for them to be able to sleep together, Jax needs to be able to sleep in a bed. So I'm going to try this out and see how it goes.
I also must post part of A.J.'s prayer from just a few minutes ago:
"Thank thee that my mom can stay home and not go to work all the time."
Hahahaha. I love to feel appreciated! :)
And now, on to the title of this post: An Ode to Shannon
If you do not know how generous Shannon Baker is, please read this post and understand. Shannon loves to share everything, and in the past few weeks she has shared a lot of things with me. Her buttons, most importantly :) to make my pouches pretty much rock! And, she shares the plethora of pants she gets from her sister-in-law.

(why is it that I never, hardly ever post, except during NaNo WriMo, and then I post more frequently than I do all year...so strange--I'm going to quit warning people that I will not post as much during November, because that is obviously a falsehood.)

Halloween!

So Halloween was fun! It started off a little rough because the star of the show was tired and didn't quiet get the concept of trick of treating. :) She also tripped on the curb and got a little goose egg on her forhead. After that little owie was taken care of she started to get the idea. She had so much fun and was so cute! She begged three pieces of candy off this old guy. She wouldn't let him close the door! She kept reaching her hand up for more. She also liked to go inside the people's houses. They thought she was so cute! She loved the dogs that people had. She growled at them which got a wonderful response!

Cute Kids at Halloween

No, these are not my kids, but can I show you how cute they are anyway?


This is Zachary Harris, son of Blaine and Karrianne Harris. This Yoda costume had everyone smiling all night. His Dad was a Jedi Knight, his Mom was princess Leah and his older brother was Darth Vadar. I am sorry I don't have a picture of him too.


This is Kaija Warren, daughter of Ty and Karri Warren. She made the cutest little Dorothy on Halloween - Ruby slippers and all. Her Dad was the scarecrow and her Mom was Elfaba (The wicked witch of the West only younger in the play called "WICKED") Basically they were the Wizard of Oz family and their costumes were fantastic.

I WISH YOU COULD HAVE SEEN THEM IN PERSON!!! Hope they made you smile anyway.

Toilet Water

So today I was stretching on the floor. I was laying on my stomache and all of a sudden a felt a splash of water on my head as well as heard it on the floor. I looked up and Jamie had an empty cup in her hands. At first I thought "no big deal just water, easy to clean up". Then I started to put two and two together. The only place that was low enough for her to get the water was the TOILET! Sure enough her hands were wet, the cup was wet and the toilet seat was wet. YUCK!! Actually I couldn't stop laughing, she is so hilarious!

Our First Family Home Evening!

We had our first Family Home Evening last night. We figure it is time to start teaching Jamie about prayer and songs and the scripture stories. We read out of the childrens Book of Mormon Stories. She sat in my lap for about five seconds. :) She took the book to Dad to read and then to Aunt Lori Ann then she wanted to read the stories herself. This is Jamie's interpretation of the first story in the Book of Mormon!

Birthday Party!

Jamie's cousin Sarah had her one year birthday party. It was so much fun! Jamie loved the pinata! She did not want to let the bat go! It was awesome!

Does this bring back memories mom? She loved this popper. It reminded me of the pictures we have of me and the same toy!

Cindy Lu Who?

So Jamie has finally started letting me do her hair. Doesn't she look just like a whoo from Whoville? The little mark under her eye is the remnants of a battle wound from her cousin given on a ride to casper! :)

Excitement in Lovell!

Well let me tell you moving is rocking awesome! In a clearly sarcastic way! :) So Jamie has actually been quite a good girl. She helps wipe off shelves, put things on shelves, wash the floor, and put the laundry in the basket. She is growing up so fast! The previous residents of this house had a kitty. That kitty smelled bad and we are dealing with it! Under our stairs was the worst. We shampood and put a layer of baking soda and baby powder down. It took the smell right out. Good tip use baking soda on urine it soaks it up and the smell! Thanks Beth Elaine for that tip. Anyway under our stairs is now the best smelling part of the house. Looks like we will be going through a lot of baking soda and baby powder!

We have had some excitement tonight . We had a fire in our back yard! Our neighbor in the last unit had their shed burn down! We thought we were going to have to evacuate. We didn't but the poor guys shed is completely gone! :( Then right after that David saw a mouse run across our kitchen!! As I type I just saw him scamper across the living room! YIKES I want him to leave now! Having a cat at this moment wouldn't be such a bad thing :)

Spoiled Rotten!

So this weekend Jamie was spoiled rotten by her aunts. If they don't slow down with the presents there will not be anything left to give her for Christmas! :) One aunt bought her a beautiful dress, and three pairs of shoes! Along with that she also recieved a princess phone and princess keys. When we got home her other Aunt presented her with a princess chair. We have been looking for one for a long time. Jamie loves chairs and now she has one her own size! She loves it so much she had to mark it as hers by peeing on it! I let her run around with out a diaper last night after bath for a few minutes. Her bum has a rash and needed some air. So I was going to get the diaper and I come back in and she is straddling the chair leaking all over the tags and the corner! What a silly mommy for letting her run around with out a diaper! :)

Good Days!

Yesterday

• We found a place to live in Lovell! It is cute and has lots of space. It is also clean.
• The Wyoming Cowboys played a great game against New Mexico. I am so glad I watched it from the comfort of my couch! :)

Today

• We had wonderful church meetings!
• Jamie took over a two hour nap!!!!! So I got to sleep for an hour and a half! YAY for sleep!

Traveling with Children

Well yesterday Jamie and I went to my nieces wedding in Casper. We traveled up there on Thursday. We met up with my Sister-in-law and her daughter in Worland and traveled the rest of the way together! The drive between Shoshoni and Casper is the longest drive in THE WORLD! We kept saying "where is Casper? Shouldn't we be there by now?" We had a perfect plan that our children would sleep at grandma's when we got to Casper while Beth Elaine took bridal pics of our niece. Thirty miles out of Casper our girls fell asleep! When we got there SURPRISE they were now awake with no desire to go back to sleep! Good tip for all of you moms and soon to be moms. When you make a plan expect that it will change and then learn how to go with the flow! :)

GOOD DAY!

-I just made peanut butter bars for the first time and I ate so much of the ingredients I'm not hungry for dinner.

-I don't have an exam or quiz or paper or presentation on monday for the first time this semester.

-I showered!

Jamie Michelle

This is Jamie Michelle. She is the joy of our lives. We have recently moved into David's parent's house while we are waiting to find housing in Basin. She has had a ball exploring this new house. My day consists of following her around picking up after her. It has been wonderful! :) Lately this goofy smile has been her new look for pictures. As soon as she sees the camera she pulls this face. I love it!
